Electroplating of Plastic Products (Part One)

1.1 Requirements for electroplating of plastic products
According to relevant research, among many plastic products, not all plastic products can be electroplated. To ensure better electroplating of plastic products, relevant staff need to do corresponding processing in advance in actual work. Through the corresponding pretreatment of plastic electroplating products, the cleanliness of the surface of plastic products is guaranteed. In order to ensure the cleanliness of the plastic surface, the relevant staff can make a thin and uniform metal film on the plastic surface after surface treatment, and regard the metal film as the electroplating cathode. In the electroplating process, the staff needs to strictly control the electroplating temperature. If the electroplating temperature is too high or too low, it will affect the quality of electroplated plastic products.
 
In addition, the relevant staff needs to strictly control the number of blind holes. Usually, the number of blind holes in plastic products is zero. If there are too many blind holes in plastic products, it will not only seriously affect the smooth implementation of the next process, but also reduce the quality of electroplating of plastic products. To ensure better electroplating of plastic products, the staff must continue to reduce the number of electroplating grooves. If there are many grooves in the plastic, the groove parts are easily exposed in the electroplating process, which seriously affects the electroplating of plastic products.
 
In general, the depth of the groove in the plastic should not exceed one-third of the groove width, and the bottom of the groove should be rounded. In plastic products, there are often many holes, and the workers need to strictly control the hole width. The hole width is generally smaller than the beam width, and its thickness is less than half of the beam’s thickness. Some plastic products need knurling. To effectively ensure the electroplating of plastic products, the staff needs to ensure that the knurling direction is consistent with the demolding direction to form a good straight line. In this process, the plastic knurling patterns need to maintain certain integrity, and the distance between the knurling patterns should be strictly controlled.
 
After the pouring is done, the relevant staff needs to do a good job in the corresponding design. In the process of selecting the pouring gate, try to choose a thicker part. To effectively ensure the quality of pouring, the staff needs to strictly control the thickness of the pouring gate, and choose a reasonable pouring path; the length of the pouring gate is within the specified range. In the process of electroplating, the staff not only needs to strictly control the electroplating temperature, but also combine the production quality of plastic products due to the variety of plastic products; adopt a reasonable electroplating process, and reduce the consumption of resources based on ensuring the quality of electroplated plastic products.

1.2 New direct catalytic electroplating plastic processing technology
To effectively ensure the quality of electroplating of plastic products, the process before metallization can be omitted directly due to the complex electroplating process of plastic products, and a certain amount of chemical catalyst can be added to the masterbatch. This process is often called a new type of direct catalytic electroplating plastic processing technology. The operation process of the new direct catalyst electroplating plastic processing technology is as follows: first, the staff needs to strictly control the amount of chemical catalyst, and combine the actual situation of plastic products, and adopt reasonable production equipment; second, collect previous experimental data, and use a chemical catalyst for plastic products; third, disperse conductive particles on the surface of plastic products to further improve the quality of electroplating. To effectively ensure the quality of electroplating plastic products, the staff needs to combine the actual situation of plastic products with a reasonable electroplating process. Under normal circumstances, the staff do not use electroless plating, but use a new type of direct catalyst electroplating plastic processing technology, which can ensure better treatment of wastewater and further improve the quality of the coating. Compared with the traditional electroplating processing technology for plastic products, the new direct catalyst electroplating plastic processing technology is more widely used and has the characteristics of convenient operation and stability.
 
In medical science, plastic electroplating products have also been widely used, such as artificial bone joints. For artificial biomaterials, due to the joint connection and other issues involved, it is very important to adopt a reasonable electroplating process. In the actual work, the relevant staff needs to choose a reasonable connection line in advance to give full play to the various functions of the plastic electroplating products. The electrical conductivity is continuously reduced due to the less deposited metal on the surface of the plastic, reducing electrical conductivity. To have good conductivity on the plastic surface, the staff needs to strictly control the conductive cross-section of the plastic product.
