With the improvement of the design and processing level of
mold enterprises,
plastic mold manufacturing is changing from relying mainly on fitter skills to relying mainly on technology. This is not only a change in manufacturing tools, but also a change in
plastics production methods and an advance in concepts. This trend has led to the continuous improvement of the standardization degree of
moulds. The
mold accuracy is getting higher and higher, the production cycle is getting shorter and shorter, the proportion of fitters is getting lower and lower, and finally promote the overall level of the
mold industry. At present, there are more than 10 national high-tech enterprises and about 200 provincial and municipal high-tech enterprises in China's
mold industry.
In line with this trend, it is inevitable that the main backbone of the production
mold gradually changes from artisans to technical talents. Of course, at present and for quite a long time in the future, artisans still play their important role, as it is difficult for
moulds to completely get rid of their dependence on their skills.
Mould enterprises and their
plastic mould production are developing rapidly towards informatization. In the information society, as a high-level modern
mould enterprise, the application of CAD/CAM alone is far from enough. At present, many enterprises have adopted CAE, CAT, PDM, CAPP, KBE, KBS, RE, CIMS, ERP and other advanced manufacturing technologies and virtual network technologies, which represent informatization. This trend towards information technology has become an industry consensus.
